Gender Equality

Human rights are moral principles that set out certain standards of human behavior, and are regularly protected as legal rights in national and international law. They are "commonly understood as inalienable fundamental rights to which a person is inherently entitled simply because she or he is a human being.“

   GENDER BASE DISCRIMINATION

Despite of all the conventions and the work done on gender issue. Violence against women continues at breathtaking rates.

Domestic violence appears to be on the increase as tensions rise in the global economic crisis. Gender- based discrimination persists in the workplace, and in housing, education, disaster relief, political life, inheritance, health care, access to food, and countless other areas.

      WOMEN RIGHTS

Women rights are the rights and entitlements claimed for women and girls of many societies worldwide. In some places, these rights are institutionalized or supported by law, local custom, and behavior, whereas in others they may be ignored or suppressed.

Issues commonly associated with notions of women's rights include, though are not limited to, the right: to bodily integrity and autonomy; to vote (suffrage); to hold public office; to work; to fair wages or equal pay; to own property; to education; to serve in the military or be conscripted; to enter into legal contracts; and to have marital or parental rights.
